Members of DAAR’s Leadership descended on the Virginia General Assembly in Richmond during the 2017 Virginia REALTORS® Legislative Advocacy Conference in early February.   Eleven members from the DAAR Board of Directors and Government Affairs Committee represented your interests by advocating key issues for the real estate community before Loudoun’s lawmakers as part of the Conference’s REALTOR Day on the Hill.

“It is important that our 1,300 members have a voice in Richmond,” said DAAR Chair Jackie Lawlor. “As one of the larger associations in Virginia, I know our lawmakers are listening.”

Your DAAR leaders serve as strong advocates on real estate issues that are important to DAAR members, such as laws that directly impact your ability to have a successful real estate business related to homeownership, affordable housing and transportation fixes including fighting against automatic toll increases on the Greenway.

A highlight of the Conference came as DAAR was awarded the 2016 REALTORS® Political Action Committee (RPAC) Triple Crown! This prestigious award is given to associations that meet or exceed their RPAC goals. This marks the 5th time that DAAR has received this tremendous honor.

The annual conference provides an opportunity for hundreds of REALTORS® to learn, gain continuing education credit, network, and carry the REALTORS® message directly to Virginia lawmakers.
