Take the Survey! Are You a Resource for Rental Housing for those with Developmental Disabilities?

Finding housing that meets a person’s needs and an owner who accepts rent assistance can be challenging in Northern Virginia’s rental markets.   The search for suitable rental housing may prove unsuccessful without a guide, especially for an individual who has a developmental disability. Realtors sometimes provide this “housing locator” service, which can be a real asset to prospective renters.

The Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS), in partnership with area service providers, housing providers and residents, wants to develop a resource list of housing locator services to assist people with developmental disabilities who have rent assistance and are seeking rental housing.  If you assist renters with finding housing, please follow the link below to take a brief survey that will help us identify the types of housing locator services available to people with developmental disabilities in the Northern Virginia area.
