Effective July 1, 2019, Unlicensed Assistants Can Either be Employees OR Independent Contractors

If you think this is a new law, you are right. July 1st marks the enactment of this and other new laws in Virginia. While the 2019 General Assembly Session ended in February, there was still some back and forth between the Governor and legislators through early May.

This year’s legislative changes covered several areas that directly impact REALTORS® and clients in Virginia, including licensing/employment, POA/COA packet, telephone privacy, and much more.

The Virginia REALTORS® have assembled material to help you understand how these new laws will impact your business. Visit the New Laws – July 2019 page to access new and updated forms, the New Laws Legal Webinar, and a summary of the new laws for 2019.
