TransAction is a multimodal transportation plan with 429 projects worth a total of $75.7 billion, supporting the continued economic growth of Northern Virginia.
On Monday, August 29, 2022, the Dulles Area Association of REALTORS® (DAAR) signed a letter with other community organizations and REALTOR® associations supporting the Northern Virginia Transportation Authority’s TransAction Plan.
Put together by the NVTA and members of the Northern Virginia Transportation Business Coalition, the letter aims to convey the importance of all 429 projects included in the long-term plan for the region’s continued growth and sustainability.
NVTA’s TransAction Plan balances all modes of transportation improvement throughout Northern Virginia, including roads, transit, bike, pedestrian and technology. With $75.7 billion worth of projects, the comprehensive plan would be carried out throughout the next 25 years.
The letter also details that the NVTA is not the sole source of funding for these projects, as some will be supplemented through toll, state and federal dollars. Therefore, removing any projects from TransAction would prevent the NVTA from being able to fund or leverage funding sources.
On Sept. 8, the Authority will host a public hearing for TransAction at 7 p.m. where the public can provide comments both in-person at the Authority’s office or virtually. The pre-registration deadline is Sept. 6, at 5 p.m. Register here: gle/sgp33RyRcGtTxFRn7
The official public comment period ends at 11:59 p.m. on Sept. 18, 2022.
