County Launches Unmet Housing Needs Strategic Plan Process with Oct. 30 Open House
Loudoun County will host an open house to kick off the Unmet Housing Needs Strategic Plan process. The open house will be held at the Eastern Loudoun Service Center, 21641 Ridgetop Circle, Sterling, on Wednesday, October 30, 2019, from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m.
In addition to learning about the Unmet Housing Needs Strategic Plan, those attending the open house will have the opportunity to learn about housing issues facing the county and current housing programs, participate in a survey and share their questions and ideas one-on-one with county staff.
In its adoption of the Loudoun County 2019 Comprehensive Plan, the Board of Supervisors directed “a review of all policies and regulations to develop an Unmet Housing Needs Strategic Plan” to include “down-payment assistance programs, utilization of housing trust funds, and home purchase programs.” The purpose of the Unmet Housing Needs Strategic Plan is to define how the county will address unmet housing needs in a systematic and comprehensive way with integrated programs. The plan will also aim to identify housing targets over the short term, which is considered to be the next five years, and the long term.
Anyone who requires a reasonable accommodation for any type of disability in order to participate in the open house should contact the Loudoun County Public Affairs and Communications office at 703-777-0113, TTY 711, or by email. Three business days’ advance notice is requested.
