DAAR & GCAAR SentriLock Reciprocity
The Dulles Area Association of REALTORS® is excited to announce that we have entered into a reciprocal agreement with the Greater Capital Area Association of REALTORS® (GCAAR) to allow full, shared access to our members’ SentriLock lockboxes.
We are making it easier for our members to show listings in GCAAR’s jurisdiction, which includes Washington DC and Montgomery County, MD.
What does this mean?
- SentriLock® lockboxes, associated with GCAAR, will be automatically set up to allow seamless access to DAAR members and vice versa. This enables you to show your clients listings in the GCAAR region more quickly. It also allows for GCAAR members to enjoy the same privilege when showing listings in our area.
- DAAR members will be able to assign SentriLock® lockboxes in GCAAR’s jurisdiction without having to change the region when assigning the lockbox to a property in the SentriKey® app.
- DAAR members will be able to access SentriLock® lockboxes in GCAAR’s jurisdiction without having to reprogram their regions SentriKey® app.
- Reciprocity eliminates the extra step of members having to contact DAAR or GCAAR when showing a listing outside of the respective regions, which streamlines the listing and showing processes.
Members must still only assign lockboxes to properties, show properties and/or provide access to properties in jurisdictions where they hold an active real estate license. Listing property and showing property are licensed activities under Virginia, Maryland, and Washington DC law.
The Code of Ethics and SentriLock® Rules are also clear that it is a potential violation to assign a lockbox and/or provide access to a property in a jurisdiction where the member is not licensed.
