DAAR to Promote Diversity in Real Estate Through Mentorship Program
The Dulles Area Association of REALTORS® (DAAR) is proud to partner with the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) on NAR Spire, an innovative new program which is designed to drive diversity within the real estate community.
This mentorship opportunity will match REALTORS® with mentees from diverse backgrounds and minority communities to help individuals learn the fundamentals of the real estate industry, foster education, empower serious consideration of real estate as a career path, and encourage and promote the development of generational wealth through property ownership.
“DAAR is excited to take part in this innovative mentorship program,” said DAAR CEO Amanda Brewer. “Our hope is that this opportunity will enable diverse, new talent to not only discover a career path in real estate, but also inspire them to help others achieve their dreams of property ownership in Loudoun County.”
Mentees do not need to have a current real estate license or any knowledge of the industry to participate. The program will provide exposure and education related to all facets of the industry including commercial real estate, appraisals, home inspection, property management, marketing, IT, mortgage banking and more.
For mentors, NAR Spire offers a chance for REALTORS® to inspire up-and-coming talent, shape the future of the real estate industry, and make a positive impact in the community by promoting diversity in the field.
NAR Spire launched its pilot program in 2021 with nine participating state and local associations. In 2022, DAAR is one of 51 associations from across the country participating in the expanded program.
