Bright MLS: An Update on the Subdivision Normalization Project

According to Bright MLS, significant progress has been made in the review of all of the subdivisions that were imported from MRIS and the Central PA MLSs. So far, this review has resulted in us normalizing this data by removing the alternate spellings and misspellings of over 138,000 subdivisions on over 949,000 listings. As part of this process, subdivision names are being normalized on listings, in Search and Listing Management.

What is the process to add a new Subdivision to Bright?

If you do not see the appropriate subdivision or neighborhood when you’re entering a listing:

  1. Select None Available.

  2. Email support@brightmls.com with the listing number, address and county and Subdivision Name you would like added.

These requests are typically processed within 24-48 hours.

We understand subdivision was not an ideal search option and hope you will give it another chance.

While this data did reflect the various formats from your previous system, the use of it through a lookup tool in Bright was not an optimal experience. Going forward, you will be able to see how the standardization of this data produces far superior results than it did before.
